Energy dispersive X-ray spectrum of the Fe-rich melt from the triple junction shown in Fig. 1, obtained in the TEM mode by focusing the electron beam on a thin area of the specimen (less than 100-nm thick). Light elements, such as oxygen and carbon, cannot be detected through the beryllium window that equips the detector. The copper peaks result from the sample mount and are not characteristic of the analyzed material. |
